Windshields Smashed

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two people who may have thrown baseballs at passing vehicles.

Deputies say a white, male passenger in a dark colored car reached out of a moving vehicle – and struck the windshields of at least three vehicles who were driving in the opposite direction.

Brandon McKenna of Gypsum had his windshield smashed by an object thrown from a passing car while he was heading eastbound in the 1100 block of E. K4 Highway around 6:45pm on Tuesday.

About 20-minutes later Travis Shea of Lindsborg had his windshield broken by an object thrown out of a passing car in the 1100 block of Old 81 Highway.

Deputies say around 7:30pm, Andrew Loder of Lindsborg was driving southbound in the 5300 block of Burma Road when a white male threw something like a ball at his truck’s windshield and smashed it.

Damage is estimated at about $1,500 for the glass on the three vehicles.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says the suspects are described as two white males who were in a dark colored passenger car that may be a Mazda or Honda.

Anyone with information about these incidents is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers at 785-825-TIPS.
