Windows Rolled Down Leads to Loss

Burglars enter a vehicle stranded on the side of the road.

The owner of the vehicle, a 29-year old male of Salina, told Police he let a 38-year old female acquaintance borrow his car on July 20th to go to the laundromat.

On the way back home the car ran out of gas and was left unattended.

Tuesday at 3 pm, the owner went to roll down the windows because of the 100-plus degree temperature – and someone took advantage of the open windows. The theft occurred sometime between 3pm and 7 pm.

Clothing belonging to both the male and the female were taken, along with the stereo equipment in the vehicle.

Total loss is listed at $1590.
