Wichita Shoplifters in Custody

KSAL StaffJuly 17, 2017

Five suspected shoplifters are caught headed back to Wichita after hitting several Salina stores.

On Friday, staff at Dillard’s alerted police around 5pm after witnessing several women walk out of the store with items they did not pay for.

Deputies with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office heard the description of the vehicle and stopped the 2004 Chevy Classic at Ohio and Salemsborg Road.

Further investigation led to the arrest of four women; 21-year-old Kenya Lovelady, 19-year-old Shakayla Walker, 19-year-old Lakendra Tellis, 18-year-old Khaezia Presley and a 17-year-old male who was not named. All are from Wichita.

Police say the five worked together to steal clothing and perfume from Dillard’s and Victoria Secret located in the Central Mall, 2559 S. 9th and Dicks Sporting Goods at 2450 S. 9th.

Police say they are still investigating to determine if the five made other stops at Salina stores on Friday or past occasions and stole items from within.
