Wichita Duo to Highlight Friday Night Live

A lively duo from Wichita will highlight this week’s Friday Night Live event in Salina.

According to Salina Arts and Humanities, On Friday, December 1, First Friday Night Live kicks off with visual-arts events at The Flower Nook, 208 E. Iron, with Pilar’s Dolls, Birds & Cards from 4 to 7 p.m., plus the BYOA reception at the Nook Studio B, 204 E. Iron, also from 4 to 7 p.m.

Other visual-art offerings on the art walk are Peaceful Body Wellness Retreat, 120 N. Santa Fe with “Winter Zen” by Cindy Mahanay from 5 to 7 p.m., a reception at the Salina Art Center, 242 S. Santa Fe for Karen McCoy’s “Oblivion Field” from 5 to 7 p. m, and the City Ceramics Pop Up Gallery at SPARK, 146 S. Santa Fe from 4 to 7 p.m.

Midtown FFNLive venues are Salina Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 901 Beatrice, featuring “Infusing the Everyday with the Cosmic,” and at The Gallery at Kansas Wesleyan University, 100 E. Claflin Ave., the reception for “Red Stripe” by William Counter from 5 to 7 p.m.

The featured FFNLive concert on Friday, December 1 is Mean Steves, a lively duo from Wichita, at Heart of Dixie, 109 N. Santa Fe from 7 to 9 p.m. Christi Moore has a sultry, soulful voice and artfully sings anything from Billie Holiday to The Beatles to Amy Winehouse. Accompanying Moore is professional drummer Steve Hatfield.  The concert is free admission and family friendly.
