Welding Tools Stolen

Thieves empty a storage unit in the county – stealing over $8,000 in welding equipment and tools.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after someone cut the lock off a storage unit owned by Matthew Stewart, at 2095 E. Water Well Road and removed numerous tools sometime between September 19 and September 23.

Deputies say welding equipment including torches, oxygen tanks, an air compressor, welding accessories plus a 12-foot trailer with a wood deck were stolen.

Two chain saws, a chop saw, floor jack, power drills, and a 9HP outboard motor were also taken.

Total loss is estimated at $8,245.
