Volunteer Hub Set to Hum

Stepping up to lend a hand or sending a check to help a cause has been a hallmark of the Salina community for decades.

Tuesday evening, Salinans will come together again to learn more about getting connected with the Salina Area United Way’s Volunteer Hub.

The Hub is the new version of the old, Volunteer Connection – or a new path for groups and individuals to get plugged in.

According to Amanda Michaelis Executive Director of Salina Area United Way, the system groups your interests and passions with agencies who need a hand.

“Each week you will get a digest email that matches what your interest are and what the needs are,” she said.

The meeting is set for Tuesday, September 20 from 5pm to 7pm at the Visit Salina Annex located at 120 W. Ash.

Scheduled speakers include; Debbie Rivers of Salina Shares, Circles of the Heartland, Brad Anderson with Salina Arts and Humanities, Michelle Peck with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Shawn Copeland, City Teen Center.
