Victim Keeps Wallet in Attempted Robbery

Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly jumped out of a truck and assaulted a man.

The unnamed victim told officers he was standing on the sidewalk on South 9th near Brown Mackie College just before 6pm Monday, when a Chevy pickup approached.

A white male then jumped out of the truck’s passenger side and began swinging his fists at the victim.

The man told police he put up his arms to protect himself and fell to the ground.

Police say the suspect demanded the man’s wallet before leaving in the truck.

The victim was not injured and did not give the suspect his wallet.

Police say the assault may stem from a previous incident.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-twenties, 5-foot-10 inches tall, about 180 pounds with brown hair.
