Vehicle Theft

Salina Police

A pickup is stolen early Sunday morning.

Salina Police are investigating the theft of a 1993 Chevy S-10 pickup truck from the 1000 block of Johnstown.

Police say someone stole the vehicle sometime between 1:19am and 2:19am Sunday morning.

The owner told officers he had left the key in the ignition.

The truck is valued at $3,000.

Another idiot that deserves to have his pickup stolen. I wonder if the people do this on purpose to collect insurance on an old beater. What I do not understand is that it is illegal to leave your keys in an unattended auto so why are the cops issuing summons to these people?
