A little more than a week removed from some of the coldest days of the season, an unseasonably warm weekend is shaping up.

A warming trend will culminate over the weekend with high temperatures peaking in the upper 50s and lower 60s around some areas of Central Kansas.

According to the National Weather Service, the warmer weather is here to stay, at least for the near future. Daytime highs in the 50s, and some lower 60s, are in the forecast at least through late next week.
