The aircraft became airborne for about 50 feet, before it drifted to the west striking the tops of trees and crashed into a wooded area.

Both Siegel and a passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger is identified as 57-year-old Brian Clark Decker from Independence, Missouri.

The crash happened at 3:48 Tuesday afternoon in Linn County.
