Tuesday Night Crash Involving Truck And Tractor

KSAL Staff - July 10, 2013 11:16 am

A crash involving a truck and a tractor sends two people to the hospital Tuesday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 34-year-old Donald Base was driving a pickup truck east on K-18 Highway. He rear-ended a tractor that was also headed east.

Base and a 4-year-old passenger were both transported to Ottawa County Health Center. Troopers say that both were properly buckled up.

The driver of the tractor was not hurt.

The crash happened at 9:01 Tuesday night on K-18 Highway in rural Ottawa County.

A little late to have a tractor on the road. They are not supposed to drive them after sunset.

Maybe not but the highway patrol should have issued tickets to the tractor driver. Further was the tractor driver buckled up?

the tractor driver has every right to be on the road after dark they sometimes work late just like everyone else the driver should be cited for inattentive driving
