A semi and the unique over-sized load it was hauling rolled over west of Salina Thursday afternoon and prompted a road closure. The single-vehicle accident happened at the big junction of Interstate 70 and Interstate 135 just before 2:30 in the afternoon.
The Kansas Highway Patrol told KSAL News at the scene that the truck, hauling a railroad car on a flatbed trailer, was headed west on I 70. The driver was exiting to head north onto U.S. 81 Highway. The truck was driving too fast, and rolled onto its side.
No one in the truck was seriously injured, and though treated at the scene by EMS, no one was transported to the hospital.
The crash prompted officials to close a portion of I 135 and U.S 81 Highway at the junction with I 70, where the the two north-south roads merge into one.
