A a bag of candy and cell phone are stolen from a Trick-or-Treater.

Salina Police tell KSAL News that about 8:15pm on Halloween, two girls ages 12 and 13 were walking in the 300 block of W. Republic when they were approached by two older teens.

The girls told police a skinny, white female about 16-or 17-years old, attempted to grab a Trick-or- Treat bag from one of the girls.

The younger girl resisted, then let go of the bag after she was punched in the side.

Police say a Blackberry phone valued at $72 was in the bottom of the candy bag.

The girls also told officers that a chubby, white male about 16-years old tried unsuccessfully to grab the other child’s bag.

Both teens fled on foot.

Not surprised at all. Probably learned how to steal from their parents. Even if they catch these two nothing will happen to them and they know this from how other teens have gotten away with things like this.
