What began as a class at the Salina Public Library over a decade ago continues to make tracks.

The Salina Hiking Club is meeting Thursday to map out their plans for some upcoming excursions this Fall.

“We generally have one person that steps forward and is the leader for each hike,” said Mary Lou McKenzie with Salina Hiking Club.

“Because we take a number of hikes out of town and so they do the planning and kind of get together a brief email for the club.”

McKenzie joined in during the KSAL Morning News Wednesday and says over the years the group has made trips to Wilson Lake, Kanopolis Lake, Cottonwood Falls just to name a few spots to enjoy the outdoors and companionship on the trail.

The Salina Hiking Club meeting is Thursday, September 22 at 5:30pm in the Prescott Room at the Salina Public Library.

McKenzie added those interested should attend the meeting or make contact via email at [email protected].
