Three Arrested in Central Kansas Burglaries

Authorities in central Kansas believe they’ve solved a recent rash of business burglaries with the arrests of three men.

The Great Bend Tribune reports Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said Wednesday that officers have also recovered thousand dollars’ worth of items such as air compressors and expensive tools.

A 29-year-old man was arrested Friday by officers investigating suspicious activity near salvage yards north of Great Bend.

Other suspects ran off, but calls to other businesses led deputies Tuesday to a metal recycling shop where they arrested a man trying to sell stolen property. The third suspect was also arrested Tuesday.

The sheriff says officers found a large amount of stolen property at a home shared by the two people arrested Tuesday, a 52-year-old man and his 29-year-old son.
