Theft In A Parking Lot

Police Car

A trailer was stolen yesterday right off of the hitch of a woman’s truck in the parking lot of Roadway Inn on 1846 N Ninth.

Victim, Stephanie Wennstedt, 55, was traveling through Salina from Missouri on her way to Colorado when she had her 10 ft. trailer containing a 2011 Polaris 4-wheeler and a snow plow stolen.

The total loss in stolen property was estimated at $13,500 in the report filed by police.

There are no cameras that would have captured the crime that took place and currently there are no witnesses. The trailer; however, did have a licence plate and the 4-wheeler had a serial number that could potentially help in it’s recovery.

Well this lady probably already realizes that the local police department would be of no help in solving this crime. Evidently the Roadway Inn is to cheap to put up security camera’s and now all the thieves know this so that should benefit them. Maybe next time this lady will stay at a better motel.
