The Dakota Access Pipeline Protest Moves To Trump Tower

Joan Jerkovich - March 6, 2017 4:44 pm

Last Saturday, thousands of Dakota Access Pipeline protestors marched on Trump Tower in New York. The #March4StandingRock was in protest of Trump’s executive order that commanded the Army Corps of Engineers to continue construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

The activists call themselves “water protectors.” What defines their cause? What have the protests cost taxpayers? Have you ever wondered what drives an activist to take up a cause in protest? How can they afford to spend weeks or months away from their homes and jobs?

Listen to an inside perspective from a “water protector” activist. One of the last activists to leave the North Dakota protest site, that was ordered to be evacuated February 22.
