Authorities have recovered the body of a teenager from a Clay County pond.

15-year-old Tommy Watt was swimming with a friend and began struggling to make it to the shore of the pond near Longford. The Clay County sheriff said the friend was attempting to aid Watt when he submerged and didn’t resurface.

Clay County authorities were called around 4:25 p.m. Friday. Watt’s body was recovered about six hours later.
