Sunday Severe Weather Outbreak Possible

A severe weather outbreak is possible Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening.

According to the National Weather Service, severe thunderstorms are likely from mid to late afternoon through the evening across the region, as a strong cold front approaches from the northwest.

The greatest threat for severe weather will be across western Oklahoma, southwest, central and north-central Kansas, southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa.

Very large hail greater than 2 inches in diameter, damaging downburst winds, a few tornadoes and locally heavy rainfall are possible. The overall severe weather threat will decrease after midnight, although locally heavy rain will remain possible.
