According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a single engine Piper airplane was coming in for a landing Saturday afternoon at the Manhattan Regional Airport. The nose gear failed to deploy, and the nose touched down.

Troopers say that the airplane’s propellor was bent in the incident, and the underbelly of the aircraft was scraped.

The 21-year-old student pilot was not hurt, nor was a 29-year-old passenger. Both are from Junction City.

The incident happened at about 3:30 Saturday afternoon at the Manhattan Regional Airport.
