While riding his motorcycle last Saturday night, Keaton Hale, 17, was was struck by a woman in a Ford Focus who failed to stop at a stop sign between State St. and Highway 40.

Becky Karabinas, 43, fled the scene and was found by police dogs later that night hiding in a ditch.

Hale suffered a fractured leg and a possible concussion from the accident.

Karabinas was charged with a DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing the scene of a crime, no proof of insurance and failure to stop at a stop sign.
