Stolen Car Wrecked

Police are investigating after a stolen car hits a fire hydrant and road signs.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of Marymount Road early Tuesday morning after an unidentified driver jumped a curb in a Chevy Cavalier and tore through five ‘Curve’ street signs and came to rest after bending a fire hydrant.

Police found the car unoccupied and attempted to contact the owner.

Seth Gilliam, 19 of Salina, called police Tuesday afternoon around 4pm to report that his 2004 Cavalier was stolen. Gilliam told officers he left the car parked outside his home in the 700 block of Fairdale with the keys in it.

Police informed him the vehicle was found wrecked and abandoned.

The 2004 Cavalier was valued at $2,000.
