A Newton woman is facing multiple theft and forgery charges.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that 49-year-old Janette Sharp was arrested on Friday after investigators learned about the misuse of a financial card.

Police allege that Sharp used a 78-year old Salina man’s bank card without permission to make dozens of purchases at bars and taverns between January 21st and February 13th.

Police say Sharp and the victim are acquaintances.

Total loss is $3,008.
