Salina Police have released the name of a man who was stabbed during an altercation on Tuesday morning.
Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that the investigation continues into an argument that escalted into a stabbing near Republic and Merrill.
Officers interviewed 40-year-old John Nelson at the hospital before he went into surgery for stab wounds to his left hand, right wrist and under his left arm.
Captain Sweeney says the investigation is ongoing and they have contacted a known male suspect in the case who is an acquaintance of Nelson.
