Tuesday Hoops Preview: Central, Maize Highlight Slate

Another Tuesday night of high school basketball is here, and tonight’s action is the last chance for teams to change their seeding for next week’s mid-season tournaments.

Salina Central hosts Maize in the two biggest games of the night. The winner in both the boys and girls games will take control of their respective league title race in Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division I. All four squads involved tonight are 4-0 in league play. Salina Central’s girls are 7-0 overall, while the boys are 5-2. Maize’s girls are 6-1, while the boys are 7-1. Pregame coverage is at 5:50pm with tip-off at 6 on SportsRadio 1150 KSAL.

Salina South entertains Campus tonight. Both Cougar squads are 0-4 in AVCTL Division I. The South boys are 2-5 overall, while the girls are 0-7. Campus’ girls enter at 2-5 overall and 1-4 in the league, while the boys are 1-6 and 0-5 in the league. Pregame coverage is at 5:50pm with tip-off at 6 on Y93.7.

Sacred Heart is at home to meet Republic County. In the girls game, the Knights enter at 2-5 overall and 0-3 in the NCAA, while the Buffaloes are 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the league. In the boys game, Sacred Heart comes in at 5-2 and 2-1 in the league, while Republic County is 4-4 and 2-2 in the league. Pregame coverage is at 5:50pm with tip-off at 6 on Classic Hits 104.9.

Southeast of Saline is on the road at Russell. The Trojan girls are 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the NCAA, while Russell is 5-3 and 3-1 in the league. The Trojan boys are 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the NCAA, while Russell is 2-6 and 0-4 in the league.

Ell-Saline hosts Bennington. The Cardinal girls enter at 5-3 overall, but 0-2 in the Heart of America League, while the Bulldogs are 3-4 overall and 0-1 in league play. The Ell-Saline boys are 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the league, while Bennington is 4-3 and 1-0 in the HOA.
