Stockade Downs Topeka

KSAL Sports - June 19, 2016 8:08 am

A second straight dominant pitching performance led the Salina Stockade past Topeka 3-1 on Saturday night in Topeka.

Dalton Bernardi went seven innings in the start for Salina, giving up just one run on four hits and three walks while striking out seven.

Offensively, the Stockade used single runs in the eighth and ninth innings to break a 1-1 tie and pick up the win. The Stockade scored the go ahead run when Morgan Blatnik walked to open the eighth inning, and then stole second and third bases before coming home on Ryo Haruyama’s sacrifice fly.

The Stockade (13-16 Pecos League) wraps up its series in Topeka on Sunday.
