Sterling Coasts by KWU Men

Kansas Wesleyan’s men’s basketball team couldn’t carry over the momentum it established in the previous two games, as Sterling rolled to an early lead and coasted to a 95-64 victory on senior night at Mabee Arena on Saturday.
Sterling was red-hot from three-point range early. Eddie Adesodun hit his first five three-point attempts in the first 4:30 of the game to stake Sterling to a quick 17-6 lead.
Wesleyan would get as close as nine in the first half at 22-13, but Sterling would use an 8-3 run to push the lead to 30-16 with 8:54 to go in the half.
Sterling would stay hot from the floor, pulling away to a 25-point halftime lead at 56-31.
It was more of the same in the second half, as Sterling started to cool off from distance, but still hit their share. The Coyotes would get as close as 23 at 81-58 with 4:54 left, but Sterling would pull back away for the 95-64 win.
Sterling was 18-for-40 from three-point range at 45 percent in the game, while the Coyotes made 17-of-57 overall field goals in the game, and were five-for-18 from three.
Wesleyan was led in scoring by Dylan Hidalgo with 13 points, while Dominique Johnson added 11 and Brock Borovetz chipped in 10. Senior Dane Brinker battled foul trouble all game and fouled out with just two points with over 10 minutes left to play. Fellow senior Chase Owen tallied eight points and six rebounds in his final game.
Sterling was paced by Adesodun’s 21 points, while Darius Alexander chipped in with 18 points.
Kansas Wesleyan finishes the season 6-22 overall and 4-14 in the KCAC. Sterling is 22-7 overall and 14-4 in the KCAC.
