Southeast Softball Rolls Past Sacred Heart

Southeast of Saline’s softball team rolled to a pair of wins over intra-county rival Sacred Heart on Tuesday, winning 20-5 and 21-5 at Bill Burke Park.
Kaylen Lassley hit for the cycle in game one. Six different Trojans had at least two hits in the contest. Along with Lassley, Catherine Conley hit a home run for the Trojans. Karlie Alvarez homered in the game for Sacred Heart.
The game was tied at four after an inning, but Southeast tallied six more runs in the second and five in the third to build a 15-4 lead. Sacred Heart got a run back in the bottom of the third, but Southeast added two more runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to roll to the run-rule win. Lassley was the winning pitcher.
In game two, the pair played a scoreless first inning before the floodgates opened again. Southeast scored three times in the second and five times in the third to take an 8-0 lead. The Knights got two back in the bottom of the third, but Southeast took any doubt out of the game with a nine-run fourth, cruising to the 21-5 win in five innings. Kendall Schlesener was the winning pitcher.
Conley, Mikaela Hoffart and Marisa Kuhn all had four hits in the second game for the Trojans. Holly Lathan had three hits to lead the Knights.
Southeast improves to 6-0 on the season, while Sacred Heart drops to 5-5.
