Southeast of Saline wasted little time in cruising to a 51-8 win over Republic County.
The Trojans scored early and often. Keith Short had back-to-back touchdowns to open the game, scoring from two and 53 yards out. Matt Helvey then scored on a 25-yard pass from quarterback Cody Schlesener to put Southeast up 22-0 after a quarter.
In the second quarter, it was more of the same from the Trojans. Short added his third score, this time from 22-yards out. Bailey Ramsey hauled in a 25-yard scoring pass from Schlesener, and Kyler Sager caught a five-yard touchdown strike to give the Trojans a 44-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Trojans added a 50-yard touchdown run by Dane Long, before the Buffaloes got on the board in the fourth quarter.
Short led the Trojans with 142 yards on 14 carries. Schlesener connected on 12-of-19 passes for 148 yards and three touchdowns. Ramsey had five catches for 62 yards, while Helvey had four grabs for 69 yards.
The Trojans visit Chapman next week.
