South Softball Finishes Off Valley Center

Nearly one month after the game started, the Salina South softball team picked up a 10-9 win over Valley Center in 14 innings on Tuesday.

Tuesday marked the continuation of a game that was the nightcap of a doubleheader which started back on March 27. The game was suspended due to darkness, and was tied at 9-9 after seven innings.

The Cougars and Hornets played six more scoreless innings on Tuesday before South scored the winner.

Bre Hogan picked up the win, pitching a total of 11 innings in the game. Hogan struck out 10. Kaci Isaacson and Olivia Giroux each tallied three hits.

The Cougars are 9-1 and face Derby on Friday.
