South Soccer Rolls Past Buhler

The Salina South boys soccer team opened the season with a 4-0 win over Buhler on Tuesday at Salina Stadium.

David Palacios scored twice in the first half, first in the sixth minute on an assist from Jorge Gonzalez, and again in the 23rd minute off an assist from Gonzalo Avila-Castro. The Cougars led 2-0 at the break.

In the second half, the Cougars added to the lead with a goal by Avila-Castro off an assist from Erick Hernandez in the 61st minute. The Cougars capped the scoring on Hernandez’s unassisted goal in the 66th minute.

Salina South tallied 21 shots while limiting Buhler to just one.

Salina South is 1-0 on the season and visits Goddard on Thursday.
