The Sacred Heart Knights have made the play-offs for the fifth consecutive year with a 35-0 win at Moundridge.
The Sacred Heart baseball team was swept on Thursday by TMP-Marian at James Matson Field, 8-2 and 5-4.
TMP scored two runs in each of the first three innings of game one to take a 6-0 lead and never looked back. The Monarchs added runs in the fifth and seventh, while the Knights tallied a pair of runs in the sixth on RBI doubles from Drew Gormley and Elijah Walters.
In game two, Sacred Heart had an early 1-0 lead, but TMP tied the game in the fourth, and then took the lead in the fifth with single runs in each frame. The Monarchs then built a four-run lead with a three-run sixth to lead 5-1. The Knights started to rally, scoring three runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth. The Knights had runners in scoring position to try to tie and take the lead, but were unable to score again.
The Knights are 8-10 on the season and have just one doubleheader remaining ahead of postseason play in three weeks.
