Sacred Heart Baseball Sweeps Ellsworth

The Sacred Heart baseball team picked up a sweep of Ellsworth on Tuesday, winning 12-5 in game one and 13-0 in game two.

In the first game, Ellsworth took a four-run lead after a five-run fourth inning. The Knights responded with nine runs in the top of the fifth to go up 10-5. Sacred Heart added two insurance runs in the seventh to win 12-5. Jordan McMillian was the winner on the mound, pitching three and two-thirds inning in relief. He added a two-RBI triple in the fifth inning. He had three hits in the game. Kyler Stover also had three hits.

In game two, Justin McCartney fired a five-inning no-hitter. Josh Dolan gave the Knights an early 2-0 lead with a two-run single in the first. After adding two more runs, the Knights added four more in the fourth and five in the fifth to put the game away. McCartney faced just two over the minimum, striking out seven and walking two.

The Knights are 7-7 on the season.
