Sachs Named KCAC Player of the Week

Kansas Wesleyan’s Taylor Sachs has been named as the KCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Kansas Wesleyan’s victory over Evangel (Mo.) on Saturday.

Sachs, a junior from Georgetown, Texas, rushed 36 times for 191 yards and scored three touchdowns and had four receptions for 44 yards in Wesleyan’s 38-28 win over then No. 22 ranked Evangel in the Coyotes’ home opener at Salina Stadium on Saturday. His performance helped the Coyotes break a five-game non-conference losing streak.

Through two games, Sachs has 376 yards rushing this season, ranking him No. 2 in the NAIA in rushing per game average (188.0) and fourth in the NAIA in total yards rushing.

The Coyotes are now 1-1 overall heading into Saturday’s KCAC opener in Winfield at Southwestern College.
