KSAL Sports - September 17, 2013 5:59 am

Kansas Wesleyan’s Taylor Sachs has been named as the KCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Kansas Wesleyan’s victory over Evangel (Mo.) on Saturday.

Sachs, a junior from Georgetown, Texas, rushed 36 times for 191 yards and scored three touchdowns and had four receptions for 44 yards in Wesleyan’s 38-28 win over then No. 22 ranked Evangel in the Coyotes’ home opener at Salina Stadium on Saturday. His performance helped the Coyotes break a five-game non-conference losing streak.

Through two games, Sachs has 376 yards rushing this season, ranking him No. 2 in the NAIA in rushing per game average (188.0) and fourth in the NAIA in total yards rushing.

The Coyotes are now 1-1 overall heading into Saturday’s KCAC opener in Winfield at Southwestern College.
