NJCAA Quarterfinals Set

The quarterfinals are all set at the 2014 NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship at the Bicentennial Center.

Four second round games were played on Wednesday. No. 2 Chipola (Fla.) routed No. 18 ASA (N.Y.) 81-46. No. 10 Butler held off No. 7 Shelton State (Ala.) 51-39. No. 3 Hutchinson kept its undefeated season alive after erasing a five-point deficit in the final minutes to force overtime, and then rolled to a 77-68 win in overtime against No. 19 Northern Oklahoma-Enid. Hutchinson used a 17-0 run between the end of regulation and overtime to rally for the win. In the final game of the night, No. 11 Tyler (Texas) shot 70 percent from the floor in the first half and 54 percent for the game to cruise past No. 6 Southern Idaho 102-81.

The quarterfinals are today, starting with top-seed Trinity Valley (Texas) meeting No. 9 Northwest Florida State at 1pm. At 3, its No. 5 Central Arizona against No. 13 Blinn (Texas). The 5 o’clock game has No. 2 Chipola against No. 10 Butler. And the final game of the night pits No. 3 Hutchinson against No. 11 Tyler.
