Kansas Wesleyan kicker Terry Stecker has been selected as the KCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in helping the Coyotes rally to beat the Bethel Threshers on Saturday.

Wesleyan rallied from an 11-point deficit in the final 11 and a half minutes of the game on Saturday against Bethel. Trailing 34-23, the Coyotes rattled off 14 unanswered points to win their second straight game for the first time in 2013.

Stecker, a junior from Plano, Texas, went 3-for-3 on field goals and 3-for-3 on PAT kicks in Saturday’s win. He hit two 47-yard field goals and added another 40-yarder for the Coyotes. He also had two touchbacks on kickoffs.  Stecker ranks No. 4 in the KCAC in kick scoring on the season, averaging 6.1 points per game during the season and No. 5 in the NAIA in total field goals (9) and No. 19 in the NAIA in kick scoring.

With the win, the Coyotes improved to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the KCAC. Wesleyan heads on the road for the final time in the 2013 campaign on Saturday, heading to Ottawa to take on the No. 11 ranked Ottawa University Braves at 1:30 p.m., at Peoples’ Bank Field.
