KWU’s Drinkall Named Patriot of the Week

KSAL Sports - March 25, 2014 4:43 pm

Kansas Wesleyan Football Coach Matt Drinkall has been named as the Patriot of the Week by the Salina Patriot Business Program for his efforts in coordinating the KWU Football team’s participation in the Army Adopt-A-School Program.

Drinkall and the Coyotes are supporting the 601st Combat Air Battalion (CAB) from Fort Riley. The Football team is gathering tonight on campus for a “Welcome Home Heroes” care package event at 7 p.m.

The care packages will be put together for Fort Riley’s, 1st Infantry Division, Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB), 601st Aviation Support Battalion (ASB) Soldiers currently deployed in Afghanistan. Personal letters and items from individuals, and cookies purchased from donors in the Girl Scout’s Cookie Share Program, will be included in the packages that are going to be delivered next month at the battalion’s “Welcome Home” ceremony.
