KWU Mens Soccer Wins KCAC Tournament

TOPEKA – Kansas Wesleyan got goals fromAkram El-Nady and Salvador Rosales, one in each half, as the Coyotes shutout Tabor College 2-0 in the KCAC Mens Soccer Tournament Championship at Hummer Sports Park. The win gave KWU its fifth consecutive KCAC Tournament Championship.

Wesleyan advances to the NAIA Mens Soccer National Championship Opening Round, which will be played November 23 at campus sites around the country. The final NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll and Modified RPI Rating will be released on Sunday, with Opening Round sites and pairings being released on Monday afternoon.

El-Nadys  goal came in the fifth minute as Wesleyan would outshoot Tabor 10-2 in the first 45 minutes of play. Tabor would turn the tides in the second half, outshooting the Coyotes 9-2, but could not find the net.

Jorge Caballero assisted on Rosales second goal in the 72nd minute.

The Coyotes would outshoot the Bluejays 12-11 in the match led by four shots by Diego CoconBlessing Ngwa recorded his second shutout in as many days with six saves for the Coyotes.
