The Sacred Heart Knights have made the play-offs for the fifth consecutive year with a 35-0 win at Moundridge.

The Sacred Heart Knights split two lopsided games with Chapman Friday night at the Irish Classic. Chapman won the girls game 55-30 while the Sacred Heart boys won 54-37.

In the girls game, Sacred Heart trailed early by a 3-2 score, but that turned out to be the closest the score would be the entire game as Chapman led 13-6 after the first quarter. A 13-0 run to start the second quarter put the Lady Irish up by 20 and the score was 28-8 at halftime.

Despite the score, the Lady Knights kept attempting to make a comeback and outscored Chapman by two points in the third quarter, but still trailed 40-22. The Lady Irish took what would be their biggest lead late in the game with the score 55-28 and went on for a 25-point victory.

Cara Donley led Sacred Heart in scoring with 12 points.

The boys game looked like a Sacred Heart blowout for most of the first half, but Chapman made it interesting in the third quarter. The Knights opened the game on an 8-0 run and then scored the last 11 points of the first quarter to lead 21-5. The run would eventually balloon to 17-0 with Sacred Heart ahead 27-5 in the second quarter. The biggest deficit for Chapman was 23 points at 31-8, but a 7-0 run closed the gap and the score was 33-18 at halftime.

The Knights were outscored 17-13 in the third quarter as the Irish continued a comeback making the score as close as eight points at 41-33. After three quarters, the Knights led 46-35. In the end, Chapman was held scoreless for the first seven minutes of the fourth quarter and Sacred Heart went on for a 17-point win.

Kane Comfort led Sacred Heart with 12 points off the bench, Tate Richards added 11 points, and Austin Palen scored 10 points.

The Knights play their final games of the Irish Classic on Saturday as both the boys and girls will face Rossville. Tipoff for the girls game is at 2pm and the boys follow at 3:45.
