Knights Cruise To Big Win In Week 6

The Sacred Heart Knights have made the play-offs for the fifth consecutive year with a 35-0 win at Moundridge.
The Sacred Heart Knights scored early and often on their way to 61-0 triumph over the Russell Broncos Friday night.
After Russell went three and out on their first drive of the game, Senior quarterback Nick Wuthnow threw the first of his three touchdown passes in the game—a perfect 26 yard strike to Senior wide out Kane Comfort.
On their next drive, Russell coughed up the ball on a pitch play gone awry. Following a mad scramble, the Knights’ Austin Palen scooped up the ball and fell into the end zone. That gave Sacred Heart two touchdowns in 47 seconds and the rout was on.
Wuthnow’s other TD passes were a screen pass to Senior fullback Clayton Wetter that covered 28 yards and an 11 yard toss to Palen.
Senior Kyler Stover punched in a one yard run for a score and Senior running back Trevor Webb shredded the Bronco defense on a play that went right up the middle for a 55 yard touchdown scamper.
Knight Head Coach Bruce Graeber pulled the starters out of the game with just under five minutes to go in the first half and Sacred Heart leading 41-0, but the points just kept on coming.
Backup QB Kale Stover, a Sophomore, engineered a nice drive late in the 2nd quarter and scored on an option play of 7 yards with 27 seconds to go until intermission.
With the clock running continuously for the entire second half, Sacred Heart still managed two more scores on runs of 17 and 26 yards by Junior running back Justin McCartney.
Sacred Heart, now 5 -1 on the year, will begin District play next week with a short road trip to in county rival Southeast of Saline. The Trojans saw their five game win streak to start the season come to an abrupt end Friday, suffering a 42-0 thrashing at Beloit.
