KSAL Sports - April 2, 2014 7:01 am

The Sacred Heart baseball team is 1-1 on the year after splitting its season opening doubleheader with Minneapolis. The Knights dropped game one 8-0 before winning the nightcap, 10-5.

In game one, the Knights committed six errors and Minneapolis made them count. The Lions scored seven unearned runs in the contest. Meanwhile, the Knights picked up just a pair of hits in the 8-0 loss.

In game two, the Knights took advantage of 11 walks by adding in seven hits. Tate Richards, Elijah Walters, Josh Dolan and Jordan McMillian all drove in runs in a four-run second inning en route to the 10-5 win. Dolan was the winning pitcher in relief, striking out 10 over 4 and 1/3 innings.
