Hawks Fall, Eagles Eliminated at State

The Salina Hawks Junior American Legion baseball team will have to fight through the loser’s bracket to defend their Class A state championship.

The Hawks lost their second round game to JeffersonCounty, 11-2 on Thursday night.

JeffersonCounty scored their 11 runs on 12 hits and three errors by the Hawks.

The game ended after five innings due to the run rule.

Cody Walters took the loss on the mound for the Hawks.

The Hawks will play an elimination game against Hays at 10am today.

The Salina Eagles Junior American Legion baseball team saw its season end on Thursday with a 9-0 loss to Junction City.

Junction City scored twice in the first and second innings, then poured on five runs in the third to pull away. The Eagles committed four errors.

Jacob Foster took the loss on the mound.

The Eagles end their season at 15-17.
