Fuego Torches Stockade

KSAL Sports - July 27, 2016 6:26 am

The Salina Stockade was blasted 29-8 in Santa Fe, N.M., on Tuesday night, pushing the Stockade to the brink of playoff elimination.

Santa Fe used a seven-run fourth inning and a 10-run seventh to turn the game into a blowout. Five different players had at least three hits, while four different players had at least four RBIs.

Ryan Harper took the loss on the mound, pitching four-and-one-third innings, giving up 10 runs, nine earned, on 10 hits, one walk and six strikeouts.

The Stockade is 28-35 overall and now trails Topeka by one game for the third and final playoff spot in the North Division of the Pecos League. Topeka has completed its schedule, meaning the Stockade must win its games Wednesday and Thursday night in Santa Fe to force a one-game playoff with the Train Robbers in Trinidad, Colo., on Friday. The winner of that playoff would face Trinidad for a three-game playoff series.
