The Salina Falcons Senior American Legion baseball team powered past Buhler 17-11 on Thursday night in Buhler.

The Falcons scored in each of the first five innings, picking up three runs in the first, two each in the second and third, one in the fourth and then sixth in the fifth to take a 14-4 lead. Buhler would try to fight back, scoring four in the bottom of the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh to cut the Falcon lead to 14-11. However, the Falcons would shut down Buhler the rest of the way and added three insurance runs in the ninth.

Matt Rowe picked up the win on the mound, while Sam Mermis and Dillon Hopkins had three hits each.

The Falcons are 5-2. They visit Manhattan for a doubleheader tonight.
