The Cardinals took a halftime lead as Cody Walters threw a touchdown pass to Nathan Fouard. Schmutz picked up the conversion again, giving the Cardinals a 16-8 halftime lead.

In the second half, Ell-Saline continued to pound away with Schmutz. Schmutz picked up scoring runs of two and nine yards, and a pair of two-point conversions, as Ell-Saline built a 32-8 lead.

In the final quarter, the Cardinals continued to pull away. Walters ran in a touchdown from eight yards out to push the lead to 38-8. Remington got back on the board late, but the Cardinals answered with Garrett Jacobson’s 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
