The Ell-Saline cross country team has a wealth of returners for both the boys and the girls. Coach Kevin Patrick hopes that means the two teams will make this year’s state meet.
The Cardinals will have full squads in both the boys and girls.
“The team will have strong numbers returning with one season under them,” Patrick said. “This will be their second season, so just having the experience factor will be huge this year.”
The Cardinal boys will be led by senior Forrest Dreyer, who has experience at the state level. He’ll be joined by senior Chance Harapat and juniors Chance Finch, Chase Finch and Levi Holcom.
Patrick looks for seniors Zach Schuman, Garrett Schuman, junior Kamdon Basinger and sophomore Kirkland Woodson to help out.
For the girls, Patrick’s squad returns seniors Lara Brockway, Kassidy Chalmers and Hunter Lindquist, junior Kiva Phelps, and sophomores Morgan Parker and Katie Adam. Patrick also expects senior Charade Britt, junior Fallyn Morrical, sophomore Madison Schuman and freshman Alivia Jennings to compete.
