Ell-Saline Baseball Swept by Marion

The Ell-Saline baseball team lost both ends of its doubleheader with Marion by run-rule in Thursday, losing 23-4 in four innings and 13-0 in five innings.

In game one, the Cardinals managed seven hits against Marion, but the Warriors were red-hot. Marion led 2-1 after an inning, but added six runs in the second, four in the third, and 11 in the fourth to put the game away. Cody Walters, Garrett Jacobson, and Matt Willis all had two hits in the game for Ell-Saline.

In game two, Marion pitcher Tyler Heidebrecht pitched a no-hitter. The Warriors scored six runs in the first, and added two runs in both the second and third innings, and the final three runs in the fifth.

Ell-Saline drops to 7-11, and closes the regular season today against Ellsworth.
