Cougar Soccer Gets Back on Track Against Campus

The Salina South boys soccer team scored five times in the second half as they roll to a 6-0 win over Campus on Thursday night at Salina Stadium.

Erick Hernandez opened the scoring on an assist from Jorge Gonzalez, putting South up 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, South wasted no time in building the lead. Gonzalez scored in the first two minutes of the half to make it 2-0. Victor Escalante scored a minute later off a corner kick from Anthony Lopez to push the lead to 3-0.

South added another goal in the 46th minute as Jose Escobedo scored, giving the Cougars a 4-0 lead.

South tacked on two late goals from Irving Silvestre and Zach Kaszycki to get the 6-0 win.

The Cougars improve to 8-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in AVCTL Division I. South is at Newton on Tuesday.
