Central Tennis Takes Topeka West Invite

The Salina Central boys tennis team took top honors, and Salina South finished seventh at Tuesday’s Topeka West Invitational.

Central won the tournament with 84 points, ahead of Kansas City Christian and Lawrence.

The Mustangs were paced by doubles champions Zachary Hampton and Jeffrey Michel, going 6-0 on the day. Thomas Hampton and J.D. McHenry were 5-1 and finished third.

Jack Weiner led the Mustangs in singles, going 5-1 and finishing in third. Zach Hilbig finished sixth with a 4-2 mark.

South was led by Logan Harner with a 4-2 showing and ninth place finish in singles. J.D. Warren finished 14th at 2-4.

Zach Koshgarian and Evan Kraus were 12th in doubles at 2-4, and Gavin Aills and Caleb Dougherty finished 13th at 2-4.
