Chicago outhit Kansas City 13-4, but KC starter Sam Gaviglio lasted five innings, allowing five hits, two runs and striking out five. Reliever Mike Minor pitched two innings and gave up a run.
Pitcher Scott Alexander came in for the ninth inning and allowed two hits to put runners on the corners. Alexander shut down the White Sox, grabbing his fourth save.
KC wraps up the three-game series on Wednesday. First pitch is at 1:15 pm, pregame at 12:30 on 1150 KSAL.
